A client in the historic Angelino Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles wished to completely restore her existing kitchen and pantry to look like the original 1908 kitchen yet be functionally modern. Everything was gutted, down to the lath and original flooring, and new electrical, plumbing, wallboard and cabinetry constructed. The restored kitchen now includes a built-in banquette and trestle table for dining as well as fully restored appliances.

A creative
Los Angeles family renovated an old 1920s era, 2-story bungalow in the
inner city to look much like it would have when it was original. We designed
the cabinets in the style of the period, complete with pewter hand pulls
and pantry with wire mesh doors. Original mouldings were copied and installed
to complete the look. |

Contemporary-Style Kitchen
(Maple hardwood countertops & birch plywood construction)
Room Size: approx 18ft long x 9ft wide

An Altadena,
CA couple, on a very tight budget, wanted to gut their old kitchen in
their 1920s era home and replace everything from plumbing to electrical
to cabinetry and flooring. We suggested painted birch cabinets and maple
butcher-block counters, plus built-in banquets in the dining area. The
resulting look is a blend of contemporary styling with touches of 1920s
hominess. The project was completed in 6 weeks and on budget. |
